Travelling to Bexhill Academy

Bexhill Academy is at the heart of our community — a school that’s easily accessible to students and families across Bexhill, Sidley, and the wider region.

Our location on Gunters Lane offers excellent transport links, making travel to and from the Academy simple whether you’re walking, cycling, driving, or using public transport. Families travelling from Hastings, Battle, Little Common, or Ninfield will find convenient, regular routes connecting directly to our campus.

Below you’ll find information about the best ways to reach us — including local bus routes, train connections, parking, and cycle storage.

By Bus

Several local bus routes stop within walking distance of the Academy, including those operated by Stagecoach.

The 98 bus provides a regular and reliable service between Hastings, Sidley, and Bexhill, with stops along Gunters Lane, Holliers Hill, and De La Warr Road — all within a short walk of the Academy.

These routes also connect nearby areas such as Ninfield, Battle, and Little Common, making it easy for students from across the community to travel safely to and from school.

Up-to-date timetables and live bus times can be found on the Stagecoach website or via the Stagecoach Bus App.

Cycling & Walking

We encourage students who live nearby to walk or cycle to school wherever possible.

There are dedicated cycle racks on site near the main entrance, and secure storage is available during the school day. Please ensure bikes are locked securely.

Footpaths from Sidley, Little Common, and the town centre make for a safe and accessible walking route to the Academy.

The nearest stations are:

  • Bexhill Station (Sea Road) – around 5 minutes by car or 25 minutes on foot.

  • Collington Station – around 6 minutes by car or 30 minutes on foot.

Both are served by Southern Railway with regular trains from Hastings, Eastbourne, and surrounding towns.
