About Us Sections

A Fabulous Live Art Trail Coming To the Streets of Hastings and Rother In The Summer Of 2022 by Wild in Art and St Michaels Hospice.

Bexhill Art department are very excited to be involved with this exciting opportunity and we are planning to create two ducklings for this public Art event. We are hoping that local businesses and the local community, parents and guardians will be willing to ‘sponsor’ us, all proceeds/ donations will be going straight to St Michael’s Hospice. Each duckling costs the school £750 to purchase. We the Art department are planning to create a series of events to raise money as well, all the information about these events will be shared early next year. If you are able and willing to donate (whatever amount, every little bit will help), please email Mary Watts Director of Arts at mary.watts@bexhillacademy.org, hopefully raising enough funds to purchase two ducklings, able to create and celebrate our Brilliant artists of Bexhill Academy within our local community and celebrating how great Art is!  Lining the seafront and streets with Brilliant ART.

For ten weeks in the summer of 2022 the streets, gardens and beaches of Hastings, St Leonards and Bexhill on Sea will be brought to life by a flock of fabulous Rubber Duck sculptures. Each giant duck will behand decorated with individually created designs, many of which will showcase the wealth of artistic talent within East Sussex.  The ducks will create a free, fun, family friendly live art trail which will play an integral part in the economic, cultural and social recovery of Hastings and Rother, enticing locals and visitors back into our beautiful local area.
