The aim of our department is to ensure that all of our students enjoy their lessons, are confident that they understand the mathematical concepts and the necessity of possessing strong maths skills in their daily lives.

We want students to appreciate the various applications of maths and be able to solve problems and see connections.

Years 7 & 8

Starting in year 7 our students follow a newly developed five year scheme of work, this includes content that is designed to stretch all students and prepare them for the new GCSE. Our setting of students is closely monitored and very flexible in order to ensure that all students receive the teaching right for them. Setting does continue throughout the further years.

Years 9, 10 & 11

Currently, in KS4 our students follow the new 9-1 GCSE 2015, from the exam board Edexcel.
