I am writing to inform you that Bexhill Academy will be holding a Remembrance Service at St Stephen’s Church, Down Road at 2pm on Friday 9th November. As a Y7 student, your child will be attending this event. The students will have an early lunch on that day and will then be walked to the church in time for the service to start at 2pm. The service will finish at 3pm, at which point there will be tea and coffee available for those that wish to stay. Parents are also welcome to attend the event, but please be advised that the church will be quite full, so a slightly early arrival is advised.
FOLLOW UP FROM YEAR 10 INFORMATION EVENING It was a pleasure to see so many of you at the Year 10 GCSE Information Evening last week. There was a real sense of purpose and ambition for us all to help the children do as well as possible by supporting them to take greater responsibility.

Dear Parents/Carers I’m impressed by the way the vast majority of our students walk/cycle to school, with care and consideration for themselves and other road users. However, when members of the public contact the school to say that they are ‘concerned’ with the road safety of some of our students and have had to swerve, brake hard or take other evasive action; I feel I have the moral duty to contact you.
In light of recent events both nationally and locally involving social media, Bexhill Academy has been reviewing the use of mobile phones and social media in the academy. We work closely with other agencies and organisations to educate our students around safer social media use and also to support young people and families where they may already have been exposed to risks
