Our Curriculum

Our Curriculum Approach

Learning is a journey which should be exciting and challenging. The curriculum at Bexhill Academy is designed to take students on that journey and inspire brilliance. Lessons at Bexhill Academy are exciting and engaging. Our students have access to their virtual classroom using Google Classrooms where our lesson resources are shared so their home learning can mirror and enhance the learning that happens in the classroom.

Our curriculum is underpinned by our values. We want all students to do their best and respect the world around them. We focus on challenging students, sequencing learning to stretch and support them to reach their full potential. Students are supported to lead their own learning and take risks in a safe and nurturing school environment. The literacy and employability of our students is of utmost importance to us and we weave these strands throughout our curriculum.

We recognise the importance of the transition from primary to secondary school. We work with our primary partners and our own Key Stage 2-3 transition coordinator to ensure that the curriculum is exciting and builds on students’ existing skills and knowledge and prepares them for the GCSE curriculum.

Students are supported to make informed decisions when choosing their pathways for Key Stage 4. Students have broad curriculum provision with a variety of subject options to prepare them for the next stage of their lives.
