Having spent almost 40 years working in schools, 17 years of this in the role of Principal, it is with some sadness that I have decided it is time for me to retire at the end of this academic year.
I would like to thank all those staff, students and their parents for making my professional life so very rewarding. I have always considered it a privilege to be a teacher and have thoroughly enjoyed my time in the classroom. If over the last 40 years I have managed to inspire any of my students to aim high and make the most of the opportunities open to them I would consider this a measure of some success. As a school leader I hope I have helped to transform the quality of education in the schools where I have worked.
The last 6 years at Bexhill Academy have been both challenging and very rewarding. The Academy is now oversubscribed and bears no resemblance to the school I took on in 2013. Bexhill Academy is poised to take its next step towards becoming a great school and I wish everyone every success in the future.
