About Us Sections

As we informed you on Wednesday, we are currently undertaking a deep clean of the building and this will be completed by Sunday evening.

However, due to a significant proportion of staff isolating we are unable to immediately re-open the Academy fully for all Year groups.

Our students’ education is a priority. Therefore, we are minimising the impact on education by placing a temporary rota system for students who access learning from home, via the Google platform.

All students who are completing their learning at home need to remain at home and should not be outside in the community orturning up at the school gates for obvious safety reasons.

Therefore, from Monday, 23 November 2020, to maintain safe staffing levels in the building this is the attendance plan for the remainder of this term:

Week beginning Monday, 23 November:

- Year 7 in school as normal

- Year 8 in school as normal

- Year 9 at home on Google Classroom

- Year 10 in school as normal

- Year 11 in school as normal

Week beginning Monday, 30 November:

- Year 7 in school as normal

- Year 8 at home on Google Classroom

- Year 9 in school as normal

- Year 10 in school as normal

- Year 11 in school as normal

Week beginning Monday, 7 December:

- Year 7 at home on Google Classroom

- Year 8 in school as normal

- Year 9 in school as normal

- Year 10 in school as normal

- Year 11 in school as normal

Week beginning Monday, 14 December:

- Year 7 in school as normal

- Year 8 in school as normal

- Year 9 in school as normal

- Year 10 at home on Google Classroom

- Year 11 in school as normal

This will take us safely to the end of term on Friday, 18 December. We believe that these reasonable adjustments and measures will ensure that learning continues for all students but minimises the risk of transmission of the Covid virus that is currently prominent in the Rother community.

This action has not been taken lightly but these measures and our timely action will provide opportunities for our parents and carers to plan child supervision at home if necessary.

We will review these plans and I will be in contact with you if circumstances change. Thank you for your support and understanding as we work together to keep everyone safe.

Urgent Reminder: if your child is unwell at all you must keep them at home and notify us immediately. Also, if any close contact or member of your household has Covid symptoms and/or awaiting a Covid test result please do not send your child into the Academy.
