We are writing to make you aware of the forthcoming upgrade to our gas network in the Little Common Road area of Bexhill-on-sea. Our project involves the essential replacement of old metal gas mains with new plastic pipe to ensure we continue to provide a safe and reliable gas supply to the local area. Our contractor WCB Utilities are undertaking this work on our behalf.
Little Common Road – starting 30 September for approximately five weeks
Broad Oak Lane – starting 30 September for approximately six weeks
Green Lane – starting 11 November forapproximately five weeks
St Mark Close – starting 18 November for approximately two weeksTo ensure everyone’s safety, when we are working in Broad Oak Lane we will need to close the road between Little Common Road and Deerswood Lane from Monday 30 September for approximately five weeks. We’ll also need to close Green Lane from Monday 11 November for approximately five weeks. Pedestrian access will be maintained and signed diversions will be in place for motorists.
Traffic flow will be maintained in both directions whilst working in Little Common Road and St Mark Close.
We understand that roadworks can be frustrating. However, the new plastic pipe has a minimum lifespan of 80years. This means that when the work is complete, local residents will continue to enjoy the benefits of a safe and reliable gas supply for years to come.
